A Lovers Death

You were here.

And now you are gone.

In a heartbeat.

With no hesitation.

We say our goodbyes.

Grieving,

for the death of you in my life.

You remain alive,

in a world, different from mine.

A world without my face,

my thoughts, my presence.

But sometimes when the sun falls,

and the night presents itself.

The ghost of you,

plants kisses down my neck as I rest.

Filling this empty bed.

At times, I smile.

And at times my eyes water.

As death occurs.

Apart we are.

Though memories live in the shadows,

hidden in my subconscious mind.

Suppressed.

At a lover’s death.
